The ULTA-mate Combo

Pixelmator's gone. I feel as though I lost a part of myself, but instead of moping, I shall forge steady on and tell you about this lovely I got from ULTA. I also got a kohl eye liner pencil for about $1, and I have never loved a pencil more. Unfortunately, I can't necessarily use it for my eyebrows, but that's later on in the review.

They were selling a lot of things for $5 and under—single eye shadows, lip and eyebrow pencils, etc etc. I think this single shadow right here cost me $2 so I was happy to get this.

Important GDR Changes.

Due to unsatisfactory services with our current server, we're in the midst of moving many things over to a new email account. If you're currently an affiliate with us, wish to be, or so on, please contact us only at crowbased☆gmail.com. We'll still be accessing the other email account to properly redirect others.

While Gmail doesn't have the same flare or je ne sais quoi to it as null.net, we're willing to forego aesthetic cleverness and flow for the sake of functionality. Thank you so much for the understanding.

The Hot, Paved Tekkokkinkreet

I'm really behind on things that I've seen/done and actually enjoyed. Like really behind. Let's try and make this better. About six months ago, I had the pleasure of watching Tekkonkinkreet, which is one hell of a name to type.

The movie is based off the seinen manga series and came out in 2006. Man, am I late. One of the things that got me about the movie is the art style of the characters and the crazy amount of details in the background. I didn't think that I was going to enjoy it very much, and I wasn't sure why. I just had that feeling. I'm so glad that it was wrong. This ended up being more than a story about two brothers trying to survive in this dangerous world of gangs and steel.

For Kuro (/Itachi), this world is all about surviving and trying to keep it safe enough for his brother to live in. Shiro isn't 100% oblivious, but it's obvious that he's not completely there as well. They mean everything to each other, and while that's an easy trope to fall into, I think that Tekkonkinkreet takes it to a whole new level when Kuro gets obsessed with leveling the playing field between him and, well, everyone else.

I think it's a really good movie, and I'm glad I finally got around to checking it out, you know. This is a movie for those who don't mind action, brotherly love turning into overprotection, and a bit of madness. Check it out for yourself, and let me know what you think.

This Old Tech: iPad vs. Nextbook

My dad is a really great guy. We're not incredibly well-off, and my dad utilizes HSN and QVC like a pro at this rate. He discovers reselling websites and gets into beneficial situations more often than not. Even though it's hard to buy luxurious things, it's nice to see new technology in our hands. Though most likely when I asked where he got the item, the answers' usually either "QVC" or "the pawn shop". Gotta love the pawn shop.

What I Use: Blog Talk Radio

I've been using Blog Talk Radio for the past two or three years now. I've always been fond of the idea of podcasts, and if I had known about them in 2006, I probably would have my own regular podcast by now to be honest. I really just like podcasts, even if I don't listen to them as often as I used to. But as someone who is usually low on funds, I couldn't afford to use many other alternatives. So for what I wanted and needed (and all the minor annoyances included), Blog Talk Radio has been nothing but a god send to me.

GDR Book Club. Grey Is...

I've been reading Grey Is... since it first came out, and I've loved it every step of the way. I've shown Dee nothing but my absolute support and with a few other people, helped her improve the first few chapters before releasing for print. She's a talented author who takes any real issues and carries them beautifully from chapter to chapter.

One of the things that I respect about Grey Is... is the raw brutality of it all. These past few years, I've witnessed a very sensitive/"politically correct" world that is too afraid to be adventurous. More than that, I've seen people take an issue and mock it or try to make it artistic and ended up being a mockery. Or worse, I encounter too many people who do things for shock value accompanied with little knowledge of the situation.

Let's Explore the Galaxy [Tights on eBay]

I didn't get to talk about this one in previous reviews or include it in my eBay haul post, but I feel as though I left this out unintentionally for a specific reason. For me, finding things I enjoy fashion wise and can afford is difficult for a number of reasons. Because of that, I usually end up browsing the latest trends, hoping I can do something whimsical and explore different styles while waiting for an opportunity to get what I really want. This time around, I went for 2013 Galaxy Tights, which I bought from taoqigger on eBay.

Look how pretty these things are. I was really excited to get my own pair (for a whooping $6.55, wow~), and the results were, well. Let's go under the covers and chat.
